This Is... The Space In Which I Create

One of the reasons that knitting has become my craft of choice is that it is just so portable, not to mention easy to drop at a seconds notice if one of my children needs me.

Up above we have; 1. the passenger seat of the car 2. cafes 3. when watching the girls swim in our pool 4. my favourite chair 5. bed, 6. pretty much anywhere, all I need is my yarn, a pattern, and maybe a few notions. If I had to name the place where I do the most creating I would have to say my bed.

Sidenote. If pic #2 looks a little snowy for Dubai, it is because we were at Ski Dubai, the indoor snow place. I don't go there often, but happened to think to take a photo when we were there this week for a birthday party.

Thanks Angela at Three Buttons for hosting This Is and Michelle at Quilting Mick for our fun theme.

  2. What a great mosaic - I love the second picture with the coffee. I tried writing in the car once and only managed to give myself a headache. So it's the good old desk for me.

  4. I so need to learn how to knit - would be so handy for the reasons you mention. So portable! Can't lug the sewing machine from room to room - or car - or Ski Dubai - etc etc!!

  7. I saw Ski Dubai on a documentary once. The whole show was about the groundbreaking architecture being built there at the moment.

I love the idea of being able to craft in bed... not one I've ever tried.

  8. I think that portable craft is the very best kind. I'm sure that's why the crochet seems so appealing at the moment.

  11. Lisa, great looking mosaic. Knitting IS one of those easily portable crafts. There used to be a lot of people doing cross stitch for that reason.

And I apologize...was going to the PO today, and I must have deleted the email with your address. If you can send again please? Hanging head in shame...

  13. what a great mosaic! I like crochet because it is portable too-sometimes I find my littles bouncing around to close for comfort while I knit on the couch.
I tried knitting with four needles this weekend and wondered how people do that on their lap.It felt like I was wrestling a long toed sloth...

  14. I like your creative spaces very much...........I hadn't thought laterally about mine like you did. Well done.

My snuggly mohair wrap is a St Michael of Scotland one that I picked up at Vinnies for $4 a while back, rather good find like the very old crochet book last week.

  15. I agree. Knitting and crochet are great because they are so portable. I'd like to know also if you made your supply basket. It's really cool.

  16. Thanks for your comments.

The bag is actually from Ikea in the bathroom section. So really the very opposite of handmade..

  17. The portability is one reason my mom LOVES knitting. I don't seem to have any talent for it, I've tried so many times. That Ski Dubai facility is pretty amazing! There's so much going on in Dubai right now it must be exciting.

I love the whole idea of doing crafty things in bed. I tried sewing in bed but it's not the best surface for a sewing machine. :)
