Craft to brighten a rainy day

I found a great tutorial to make these paper flowers at How About Orange a little while back. Today seemed like a great day to give them a go. We flipped though magazines to choose which pages to use and I pity B's future partner. She was immediately drawn to the Tiffany ad.

The girls have also been working on sewing some gift tags which I can't show here in case any of the recipients read this, and I am knitting another Helena for a little friend's January birthday, because nothing says happy birthday like a cardi in the middle of summer.

A Card from G

I've said it before and I'll day it again, I am truly blessed.

DNA Greeting Cards

Yes, you are reading correctly. G had a haircut and decided to save the hair and make cards with it. Hair as gorgeous as that deserves to be treasured.

This Is... Our Pets

Growing up in the suburbs of SE Queensland, we always had pets. From dogs, cats, birds, chooks, goats and I believe one of my brothers had a snake for a short amount of time.

My pets as an adult have been ~

Venny captured by G Sept 07

Venny who decided to adopt us about ten years ago, when I was still living in my hometown. She stayed with Charlotte, the lady I had been living with when I moved to the GC. All these years later, the girls had a ball with her when we briefly lived at Charlotte's before moving to Dubai.

Toby

In our first year living together as a couple, we decided to get a dog. Along came our cheeky boy, Toby, a sweet shar pei. Six months later, his sister Bailey was born and we fell in love with her the day of her birth when we held her in the palm of our hands.

Bailey

They grew with our family and it was hard to say good-bye when we moved over here. Maybe when we live somewhere more suited, and are not planning on being away for long stretches of time each year we will have some pets again.

Thanks, Two Peas in a Pod for this theme. It has been fun sharing. To see lots of other pets, pop on over to Three Buttons.

More Knitted Breasts

I have been busy making more breasts for demonstration purposes, which is why there has been a lack of posts about knitting.

B wanted to get in on the action, so here she is too.

The other photos are a little suprise that the phantom photographer took while I was in the shower this morning.

I love seeing photography through the eyes of children.

Finger Knitting and Knitting Nancy

Here is our little girl hard at work learning how to use her knitting nancy that arrived today. She also sees herself as a budding graphic designer. Here was our conversation when I downloaded the photo.

G I think that you need to crop my curly hair

Me Really

G Yeah I don't think the colour goes with the background of the image.

Her words. I kid you not.

And here is her very first go at finger knitting from a few weeks ago. It is all ready to go into her special memories box. B's foot has made a cameo in the shot. She has been pretty sick with a tummy bug today so I was not going to ask her to move it.

Latest WIP

When I download photos there are always a few little surprises to be discovered; shots taken by one of my budding photographers. This one features my knitting bag with Josie's very grape longies peeking out.
